France Trip
18th - 22nd June 2025
An early start on the 18th June 2025 saw 28 members of the choir and friends depart for Bergerac, France to begin our singing trip in the south of the country. On arrival we were met by our hosts the Choir of St Philippe de Seignal who had organised all the travel for our trip whilst in France.

Our first day was spent with the French Choir and rehearsing in the concert hall of St Phillippe de Seignal. The next day, Friday, the choir travelled to Bergerac to rehearse with the French pianist in the Bergerac Temple where we were to perform that evening. Prior to the concert, gifts were exchanged with the 2 Rotary Clubs of Bergerac; Bergerac and Bergerac Cyrano. Rotary Voices Choir then gave a superb concert performance to a large and very appreciative French audience, donations on the door raised 225 euros, a large percentage being given to the Temple.

Saturday began with a lunchtime concert on the steps of the main church in St Foy La Grande with Rotary Voices singing to a large crowd attending the local market, all monies donated during this performance were given to the church itself. Later that afternoon the choir headed back to the hall in St Philippe de Seignal, rehearsing the joint songs with the French choir in French and English in preparation for the concert that evening. The evening concert was a huge success with both choirs giving excellent individual performances and a spectacular finish, both choirs joining together to sing a number of specially prepared pieces.

Sunday began rather early, our hosts had kindly organised a trip and a guided tour of St Emilion with members of both choirs attending. Everyone then headed back to the hall in St Phillippe for a really superb buffet lunch prepared by our hosts, and, to finish the mandatory sing-a-long at the end!Overall, a truly exceptional trip which was enjoyed by one and all.
